Despite poverty, fear, violence, death and the fight for survival, Nigeria has encouraged her to believe in the good of mankind. Even though a woman’s life in Nigeria does not count for much, she met proud and extremely tenacious women in Ibadan who have not given up and are still fighting for themselves and for their children. They welcomed her, a white European woman, as one of them. The steadfastness shown gives hope that it is worth fighting for tolerance, especially when it seems hopeless.
