Sample Book Insights:

#1 You’ve been conditioned to believe that alcohol is a vital part of life for socializing and relaxing. But you know there are competing desires inside your mind: your conscious mind wants to drink less or even stop drinking, while your subconscious mind believes you need to keep drinking for some good reasons.

#2 You should write down a list of every reason you drink. You should be able to think of no more reasons why you drink. You can decide for yourself whether those beliefs are true based on the facts.

#3 The first list is the list of reasons you want to drink less. The second list is the list of reasons you want to drink more. They are in conflict with each other, which is the source of your cognitive dissonance.
