Honestly the most disappointing book I’ve ever read. The only book that’s ever made me feel cheated for my time. A mysterious buildup that hooks immediately with a vagueness that slowly starts to overstay its welcome and an interesting general plot/theme with alright if not occasionally frustratingly dull characters. All that said, after so many hours of hinting at a story and urging the reader to theorise about the plausible history and eventual outcome, it quickly fizzles out and dies by the end with no real resolution to anything and leaves you with what I can only describe as narrative whiplash and sadness.
