Tony Jarrells had his life planned. Two years in the Army, come home to Fries, Va and go to VA Tech to get his engineering degree and marry Gail, his childhood sweetheart. But the week before leaving Vietnam, his unit was ambushed. Five were killed. Only he survived. Months of surgeries, rehab, then an addiction to painkillers left him a shell of the person he was. But God redeemed him. He found his way to a very special fitness center in Charlotte, NC that only accepted current and recovering addicts that used the three prongs of fitness, faith, and addiction recovery. Within a couple of years. Tony had bought the center. God brought a young man to the center that Tony paid special attention to. What Tony didn't know was that months before this young man had lain dying in the local emergency room. His father, one of the wealthiest real estate holders in the south, had prayed if God would spare his son, he would work to make sure other young men didn't die of overdoses. This man fulfilled his promise by becoming Tony's benefactor, helping Tony build Life Works Through Faith Fitness Centers throughout North Carolina. His only requirement was that Tony live his life as he had lived his. To Whom Much is Given, Much is Required. This is a story of Redemption, and of a person giving endlessly to others, overcoming the demons he brought back from Vietnam. As someone who served during Vietnam, but wasn't deployed, it was important to me to honor those who served, and did have to face those demons. I was very blessed by writing this book, and I hope those who read it will be blessed.
