Over dit boek

An ideal republic set out as a novel: the traveler arrives, the institutions are explained, and the argument about property, labor and marriage proceeds. Evans belongs to the late-Victorian wave who reasoned through fiction rather than pamphlets — the form was Bellamy's, and half of educated England was reading them. Read for the argument, and for what an intelligent reformer of 1900 thought was obvious.
