Better Than the Movies

A USA TODAY and New York Times bestseller

Perfect for fans of Kasie West and Jenn Bennett, this “sweet and funny” (Kerry Winfrey, author of Waiting for Tom Hanks) teen rom-com follows a hopelessly romantic teen girl and her cute yet obnoxious neighbor as they scheme to get her noticed by her untouchable crush.

Perpetual daydreamer Liz Buxbaum gave her heart to Michael a long time ago. But her cool, aloof forever crush never really saw her before he moved away. Now that he’s back in town, Liz will do whatever it takes to get on his radar—and maybe snag him as a prom date—even befriend Wes Bennet.

The annoyingly attractive next-door neighbor might seem like a prime candidate for romantic comedy fantasies, but Wes has only been a pain in Liz’s butt since they were kids. Pranks involving frogs and decapitated lawn gnomes do not a potential boyfriend make. Yet, somehow, Wes and Michael are hitting it off, which means Wes is Liz’s in.

But as Liz and Wes scheme to get Liz noticed by Michael so she can have her magical prom moment, she’s shocked to discover that she likes being around Wes. And as they continue to grow closer, she must reexamine everything she thought she knew about love—and rethink her own ideas of what Happily Ever After should look like.

OKOKOK THERES SOOO MUCH TO SAY HERE. -I LOOOOOVED Wes Bennet. In capital letters, girrrrrrl. (I would’ve liked to see his pov and watched him suffer for love???? God yes!!! but still) - the kiss scene OMG peeeerfection - the way the author builds the relationship betwen the two… loved it. I remember when he asks her for a pic when she is trying on dresses and i felt like OMG DID HE REALLY JUST???? OOMMMG - the way she goes back to his garden with the penny story and the panic and the stoic-Wes AMAZING. (I would’ve loved to see more of this Liz sooo much fun) - about Liz… she is kind and nice and dresses weird so we love her, but she didnt steal my heart like Wes. Maybe bc she was a little bit self centered? But she was ok, Im not saying she was mean… If I had to say something bad about the book I would admit that…. 1) no spicy scenes is saaaaaad for romance 2) the best friend seemed a little bit cruel to me like… ok she lied to you and its really wrong I get it, but if she is your beeest best friend, you get mad but you don’t stop loving them. She semed like she didnt care if Liv got hit by a bus or something And 3) it drove me a lil bit crazy that Liv didnt TALK her problems. I mean, at least SOME you know? Maybe it would have been cool if she solved everything with her best friend and leave the step mom for later and Wes for the ending. You know? Solving eeeeeverything in one night… not a fan. BUT it didnt bother me a lot honestly cause once WEEEEEES BENNET was in the picture GOD who could care about anything else? Congrats to the author! And also to the narrator THAT GIRRRL MADE AN INCREEEEEDIBLE JOB. Amaaaazing sexy voices but natural still.

Me gusto bastante. Aunque en varias ocasiones tuve mu has ganas de sacudir a la protagonista por boba.
