It also includes two related books in which Anne Shirley appears, but not as the main character: Chronicles of Avonlea, 1912, and Further Chronicles of Avonlea, 1920. It does not include (because they are not yet available: Anne of the Windy Poplars, 1936, 22-25, and Anne of Ingleside, 1939, 34-40. According to Wikipedia: "The central character, Anne, an orphaned girl, made Montgomery famous in her lifetime and gave her an international following. The first novel was followed by a series of sequels with Anne as the central character.
