I'm the unpopular opinion, Rhett and Scarlett aren't great as a couple. They're too similar, they are better as best friends. Melanie is the MVP of the story, and I didn't think i would like her that much when we first met her but she grew on me and I'm convinced this could have a modern sapphic retelling where Scarlett and Melanie are a couple. I can see it, Scarlett hating Melanie at first and Melanie already liking her.... yeah, I would read a retelling like that. And Ashley, he is not even a man, and i hated Scarlett's idolization of him.
