Turkish tales from the Anatolian villages: the stag-prince, the three orange-peris, Mad Mehmed, the forty princes and the seven-headed dragon. Nisbet Bain translated them in 1901 from Hungarian and German collections made in the field. The Turkish material sits between the Arabian and the Balkan and belongs entirely to neither.
