This was an exciting, occasionally terrifying and thrilling love story that dodged the most common clichés - to my great relief. The characters - all of them - and their backstories were well written and one aspect I really liked about combining them to the story of the protagonists was that the relationship developed over time, unrushed. It added to the credibility of the events. I enjoyed the way the book was written from Charles' point of view and only in the epilogue did we get inside Ramon's head.
