My heart never stood a chance.
From the first time I laid eyes on Caden North, it beat only for him. We'd planned on forever . . . But when you meet your soulmate at eight years old, plans can change. Loyalties can shift. And young hearts can break.
I was sixteen when I broke mine . . . And his. The day I ran from the only home I could remember, leaving him in the arms of another. He grew up to become one of the most sought-after musicians on the planet, all while I witnessed his triumphs from the shadows.
Until I'm faced with my worst nightmare and left with no option but to return. I know all I'll receive is hate when I finally share my truth. Except I'm so wrong.
He stuns me with a proposal I would never have expected—and one I simply can't refuse. Stay with him. For one week. Seven days to fall in love with him. However, the longer I stay, the harder we fall.
And when revelations of the past shatter his trust in me, can our love be strong enough to fix what's been broken?
Contains mature themes.

So yeah! The audiobook dropped yesterday and I’ve been listening to it every free moment I’ve got. And craving it every single minute I’ve had to do all that other crap, i.e. working, caring for family and home, etc -adulting is the pits, at times like these. Let me just tell you that there IS such a thing as “love at first glance” between readers and authors. It took moments for me to get intrigued, minutes to get attached and within the first chapter I knew I’d found “The One”… well ok, another “One” anyway. It’s allowed right?! Polyamory, when every one of my favourite authors all get just as much love and devotion 🤭 There’s just something about certain books, they stay with you even after reading hundreds of others. I listened to the first two ones back to back, never wanting to leave this incredibly well crafted and meticulous world of theirs yet. I spent the following 2 days (before the next one dropped in audio), in a daze haunted by the knowledge that this will be a short wait compared to the cravings I’ll be having following the end of this third one until the next series “Rouges of New York” is completed (and hopefully in audio as well). // As I started listening to book one I was both sceptical and disillusioned, after not just one too many duds -but a whole lot of them. This was a totally new to me author I’d not heard of yet I probably wouldn’t have sought these books out, so thank you my goodreads faves for letting me in on just how awesome Pamela O’Rourke is. The Brotherhood books were recently added in audio and included in my subscription to Nextory (Sweden) -and therefore free to me But I’d gladly have paid well for these gems, and will get anything she’s written now that I’ve finished book 3 - “Broken Strings”. Aside from having currently f*cked up my ability to concentrate and prioritise, since all I’ve wanted to do since I started this read, is crawl back in bed and listen to a few more chapters of Cade and Summer… This book maintained its allure till the very end. As it’s predecessors, it’s the kind of alluring and possibly addictive writing that grabs you in every way, yet always alludes to more reveal or extra morsel of perfection just a few lines away. Resulting in the unquestionable and continual need to flip the next page -or as in my case, just keeping those earbuds in and letting the words wash over me. Mark my words though, I was a complete and utter fan girl within a few chapters, loving its well crafted intrigue, fleshed out characters and the amazingly amusing inner voices of both main characters.
