This one took a few tries to get me interested. It had a following and lots of reviewers loving it so I wasted to get me some of that BAM! It turned it to be more of a slow and sassy-sweet read with classic romance elements that do work -although it lacks in originality, it might have been considered more edgy when it was first published, idk. I felt it needed something more to make the book stand out. The structure reminds me a bit too much of a modern day fairy tale and the suspense element wasn’t a big shocker which also added to the lukewarm feel. I did find the male characters to have personality-all quite charming and fun, in their own way, but the ladies are very generic and textbook even though the FMC did have her quirks and stood her ground-at leader in the books first half. Hopefully the other ladies get to bloom in the coming books. I’m giving the next one a go.
