When darkness falls and virtue seems to die,

Look not to earth but to the spirit’s sky;

The Bhagwat is the final fort,

The only safe and everlasting port.

The snake-bird flies to take Parikshit’s breath,

But the King has conquered every fear of death;

The age of Kali fades before the song,

Of Him to whom all hearts and worlds belong.
