Holes in Mikie\'s clothes are a symbol of poverty. Mikie hides in the bush instead of going to school because he is ashamed of his clothes filled with holes. Mikie\'s travels begin as a frustrated Mikie falls into this hole, while he is looking at it. In the hole, Mikie meets four friends who have already into the hole.
