Über dieses Buch

Complete and unabridged, with 60 full-page plates by Winslow Homer, Willem van de Velde the Younger and Willem van de Velde the Elder. Round the world by working passage - stoker, deckhand, farmhand, whatever paid the next leg. Fletcher traveled without money on purpose and reported what the world looks like from below decks. This edition pairs the text with a gallery of 60 plates of maritime and landscape painting, among them Turner, Aivazovsky and Winslow Homer, plus 41 restored and coloured illustrations.
