Baptism and Confirmation offer a profound catechetical study of the first two Sacraments of Initiation, revealing their indispensable role in the Christian life. With theological precision and pastoral clarity, Fr. Michael Mueller explains how Baptism frees the soul from original sin, makes us adopted children of God, and opens the gates of eternal life, while Confirmation strengthens the baptized with the gifts of the Holy Ghost to faithfully profess and defend the Catholic Faith. Drawing upon Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the perennial teaching of the Church, Fr. Mueller carefully explains the effects, ceremonies, and obligations associated with these sacred mysteries. He addresses the grave responsibilities of parents and godparents, the necessity of timely Baptism, and the spiritual courage demanded of every confirmed Catholic living as a soldier of Christ. Both doctrinally rich and spiritually practical, this classic work serves as an invaluable guide for Catholics seeking to understand the dignity of their supernatural rebirth and the lifelong mission entrusted to every member of the Church Militant.
