Mrs Dalloway

NĂ©e Ă  Londres en 1882, Virginia Woolf est une femme de lettres reconnue pour la complexitĂ© et la modernitĂ© de son Ɠuvre ainsi que pour son engagement pour la cause fĂ©ministe. Elle commence sa carriĂšre d'Ă©crivain en 1905 en travaillant pour le supplĂ©ment du Times et publie son premier roman La TraversĂ©e des apparences en 1915. Par leur audace et leur modernitĂ©, ses romans et ses essais sĂ©duisent autant le public que la critique. ConsidĂ©rĂ©e comme l’une des plus grandes romanciĂšres du XXĂšme siĂšcle, Virginia Woolf innove autant dans la langue que dans les thĂšmes, laissant une grande part Ă  la psychologie de ses personnages - comme l'illustrera son roman Mrs. Dalloway (1925). De nature dĂ©pressive, elle dĂ©pose un dernier manuscrit ainsi qu’une lettre Ă  son mari et se suicide le 28 mars 1941.
