Animal Farm (1945) is a novel that tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against the farmer who exploits them. Tired of hunger, hard work, and mistreatment, they drive the humans away and establish a community of their own, where all animals are equal and can enjoy the fruits of their labour.
After their victory, the animals begin to organize their new society according to a set of shared principles, pursuing the dream of a better future. Gradually, decision-making becomes concentrated in the hands of a few, and the promises of equality begin to change.
