Plot was all over the place. Many interesting aspects and ideas were started, but I don’t believe any of them were finished. It reminded me more of a collection of concept ideas than one finished story. I loved her ideas about the gods and magic system, but it is not a significant focus in the book. Entertaining enough to finish, but the author really have to wrap up some storylines in the next book. Secondly, the main character was made in a weird way. I have minor spoilers here. She starts with telling is that this world had made her heartless and she doesn’t care about anyone (she said edgily); as she is going out of her way to safe orphaned children and give money to the poor. It seemed like the type of main character a child would write. It could potentially make sense if we were introduced to the backstory that should make her think she didn’t care about anyone, but we do not. Because she cannot remember her past… because of course she has amnesia. This childishness is in my opinion further supported by how often she chooses to insult people when she is in bad situations. A clever character might have chosen to try to manipulate a situation, play into her opponent ideas of weakness, or stay silent until there id a good moment to strike. Not this girl. She would rather insult nobility and die than try to be smart in situations where she is clearly at a disadvantage. And of course she is sharing her body with a demon of some kind, which is never explained either.
