Om den här boken

For four luminous nights, two lonely souls find refuge in each other beneath the pale summer sky of St. Petersburg.

Known only as the Dreamer, a sensitive and solitary young man has spent years retreating from ordinary life into an elaborate world of imagination. He wanders the city alone, forming silent attachments to its streets, buildings, and passing strangers while longing for a genuine human connection.

Then, beside a canal during one of St. Petersburg’s celebrated white nights, he meets Nastenka.

She is young, heartbroken, and waiting for a former lodger who promised to return and marry her. As the Dreamer listens to her story, the two form an immediate and tender friendship. Over four unforgettable nights, they share their fears, hopes, disappointments, and dreams of a happier future.

But while Nastenka waits for the man she already loves, the Dreamer begins imagining a life with her.

Caught between fantasy and reality, devotion and desire, he must decide whether one perfect moment of happiness can be enough—even when it cannot last.

Tender, intimate, and quietly devastating, Fyodor Dostoevsky’s *White Nights* is a timeless exploration of loneliness, unrequited love, romantic illusion, and the painful courage required to step beyond the safety of one’s dreams.

Narrated by Miguel Khoury.

Väldigt gammalmodig engelska, repetitiv och både lättläst men svår att hänga med i, hade hellre läst en annan mer modern översättning men hittade ingen. Boken var dock bra!
