Despite her best efforts to become a footnote, Mary has discovered Mayor Dabzal’s secret base of operations, blowing the conspiracy that threatened her and her friends wide open! While there, she confronts the famous magus smith Girtz, who is integral to the mayor’s dastardly plot...only to learn there’s a cat in the pan! Or one in the storage room, at least. Meanwhile, several of Mary’s friends are attending Dabzal’s dinner party, patiently keeping watch over him to see which way the cat jumps—and once he ducks into a secret passage, they know it’s time to pounce. With the ball of yarn he worked so hard to wind coming loose at both ends, can Dabzal claw out a victory? Or will Mary and her friends make him face the mewsic?
