Om denne boken

"I am a man of substance, of flesh and bone, fiber and liquids—and I might even be said to possess a mind. I am invisible, understand, simply because people refuse to see me."

The Invisible Man is a SF novel by H. G. Wells considered as the "father of science fiction". Originally serialized in 1897 in Pearson's Weekly, the same year it was published as a novel. The Invisible Man to whom the title refers is Griffin, a scientist who has devoted himself to research into optics and who invents a way to change a body's refractive index to that of air so that it neither absorbs nor reflects light. He conducts this procedure on himself and makes himself invisible, but in his effort to reverse it, he fails. Griffin has become an iconic character in horror fiction as a practitioner of spontaneous and reckless crime.
