Two compelling plays about displacement, belonging and Ireland's complex relationship with migration, by award-winning playwright Deirdre Kinahan.
In Adrift, a birthday celebration turns volatile when the siblings of a rural Irish family confront their sister over her relationship with a refugee. A funny and humane exploration of the rise of anti-immigrant sentiment, the play was first performed on a tour of Ireland in 2026, directed by Marc Atkinson Borrull and produced by NOMAD Network and Once Off Productions.
In The Homecoming of Joseph Grace, a man wrestles with his past as he prepares to set foot on Irish soil after fifty years away. A devastating story of a life unmoored by war and exile, and an ode to every citizen of the world forced to flee their home, it premiered at the Cork Midsummer Festival in 2026, before transferring to the Pavillion Theatre, Dún Laoghaire.
