Damon Knight (1922–2002) was an influential science fiction author, editor, and critic whose fiction appeared in Galaxy Science Fiction, Astounding Science Fiction, and The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction. He wrote novels including Hell’s Pavement, The Sun Saboteurs, and Beyond the Barrier, founded the Science Fiction Writers of America, and helped establish the Nebula Awards.
