Complete and unabridged, with 53 full-page plates by John Constable, Seifū Yohei III and Walter Sickert. A barrister's wife falls in love with another man and both of them insist on doing it honestly, which turns out to be the expensive way. Frankau wrote it in 1922 as an argument about the divorce law, and the courts in it are drawn from the ones he knew. This edition is bound with fifty-three plates of painting, among them works by Walter Sickert, Amélie Lundahl and Anna Ancher, dating from 1810 to 1927.
