Yadriel has summoned a ghost, and now he can’t get rid of him.
In an attempt to prove himself a true brujo and gain his family’s acceptance, Yadriel decides to summon his cousin’s ghost and help him cross to the afterlife.
But things get complicated when he accidentally summons the ghost of his high school’s resident bad boy, Julian Diaz – and Julian won't go into death quietly.
The two boys must work together if Yadriel is to move forward with his plan.
But the more time Yadriel and Julian spend together, the harder it is to let each other go . . .

It was an ok book, the premise was cool but everything is very much over explained, feel like the author thinks the reader is a bit slow, like you are always told how someone is feeling rather than have the scene and personality show you. It is almost like the plot points are nothing more than bullet points just there to be checked off, some of the things that happens have no real weight, it is a bit unfortunate bc it has a lot of potential. The only explanation I can think off is that it’s maybe for younger audience? Like 10-13 year olds? I think some aspects of the story is very refreshing, like parts of the family dynamics and the trans representation feels though through, some of it very heartfelt. On the other side of that I was surprised to find the female representation to be not so great, Maritza is only remembered when it’s convenient, it feels like it was just another bullet point to have a woman present. All in all the book feels very cliche and predictable, which doesn’t have to be a bad thing but unfortunately is in this case, that being said I did finish it and don’t regret reading
