Dulcie 'Deuce' Meadows lives in a trailer with her boyfriend, Jack, in a small town in Utah. She connected with him once he came back from the war. They went to school together and although their paths crossed in the past, both of them remained silent and distant. His PTSD leads him to create sculptures from scrap metal as a way to manage his anxiety. He uses his strength to complete all of his tasks, never letting his hands be idle. She is expecting his return after he is delivering one of his sculptures. A trip he normally completed in just a few hours stretches out as he doesn't return. He was still missing the next morning.
