Clarissa is in for the shock of her life when her husband - out of the blue - tells her that he wants to get pregnant. And he wants HER to do it.
Excerpt:
I was nervous and scared and didn't know if I could go through with it. Our parents had been badgering us to give them a grandchild for a long time and Andy thought it was high time that we gave them one.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against babies or anything like that, but being pregnant scares the hell out of me. I've watched all my friends as they - one-by-one - settled down, got knocked-up and had kids.
It just seemed like from the very first moment of pregnancy to the last, something terrible was happening. I really didn't think I could go through with it.
I told Andy my fears and to my surprise he said that we'd find a way to deal with it. He had that determined look on his face that made me wonder what devious plot he was hatching.
It wasn't until later that week that I found out.
