Im Zentrum dieses Buches steht ein Abenteuer: Die Theater Konstanz und Nanzikambe Arts in Malawi gehen eine Partnerschaft ein. Drei Jahre und über fünfzig Flüge später steht ein Ensemble aus malawischen und deutschen Schauspielern auf der Bühne und präsentiert die Uraufführung einer gemeinsamen Stückentwicklung. Schauspieler, Regisseure und Projektleiter berichten aus ihrer Perspektive über diese Kooperation. Darüber hinaus wird das Projekt im Rahmen eines größeren Diskurses analysiert: als Auseinandersetzung über den Stellenwert von Kunst im Nord-Süd-Dialog und in der internationalen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit.
Central to this book is an adventure: The theatres Nanzikambe Arts, Malawi and Theater Konstanz, Germany are entering into a partnership. Three years and over fifty flights later, a cast consisting of Malawian and German actors is treading the boards and presenting the world premiere of a jointly devised play. Actors, directors, and project managers report from their perspective. Furthermore the project is analyzed in the context of a broader discourse: As an examination about the status of art within the North-South dialogue and within the international development cooperation.
