Über dieses Buch

They are the last crew left alive, sealed inside a spinning ship far from the Sun, counting minutes while something invisible hunts them from within. Every decision now carries weight, because a single mistake could spread death beyond the walls of the ship and into an untouched world waiting below.

Three Spacemen Left to Die! is not a story about escape. It is about what must be done when mercy becomes dangerous and loyalty becomes a liability. As time collapses and trust erodes, one man is forced to choose between preserving life and destroying it with his own hands. The tension does not come from what is attacking them, but from what the crew is willing to become to stop it.

This is classic hard-edged science fiction, stripped of comforts and certainty. The danger is intimate. The arguments are human. And the consequences follow long after the final decision is made. Every line pushes toward a moment where ethics, fear, and duty collide inside a locked ship with nowhere left to run.

Russ Winterbotham was a prolific contributor to American science fiction magazines during the 1940s and 1950s, publishing frequently in titles such as Startling Stories, Planet Stories, and Thrilling Wonder Stories. His work often placed ordinary professionals—engineers, officers, technicians—into extreme situations where technical knowledge alone could not save them. Three Spacemen Left to Die! is one of his most tightly constructed stories, remembered for its escalating moral pressure and its refusal to offer easy answers.
